A •
Normal with many others considering. The tests are available in se eral locations, the
closest being Springfield and are administered by an independent t sting agency for a fee
of$200.00 paid by the applicant. These individuals must still meet minimum
requirements for testing as outlined in Chapter 26. Use of this testi g service will
minimize complaints about test difficulty or discrimination of appl cants. It will also
reduce time involved in administering tests by staff thus increasin efficiency of our
division.
As the fee of$200 goes directly to the testing agency, therefore, w are recommending
elimination of our current$50.00 applicant fee. We are, however, ecommending
increasing our annual license fee to $100 for the following reasons
1. The cities of Bloomingtoh, Springfield, and Peoria now ch ge $100.00 for their
annual fees.
2. Raising the fee will help offset the loss of the $50.00 appli ant fee.
3. The annual license fee has not changed for 25 years.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: The Heating, Air Conditio 'ng, & Refrigeration
Commission has met and agreed to all recommended changes.
POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: None we are aware of
STAFF REFERENCE: Randy Johner, Construction Inspections anager @ 424-2787
or rciohner(adecaturnet.org
SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS: Minutes from Commission Me ting,Memo from Cary
Mills,Mechanical Inspector
RJ/rat
M07-102
