There are many commercial and light industrial uses in the <br /> immediate vicinity, to the east, west, northwest and north. The Decatur Area Urban Land Use Map shows <br /> the area as Commercial. <br /> STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Based on the above analysis, staff recommends approval of the rezoning from R-1 Single Family <br /> Residence District to B-2 Commercial District. <br /> PLAN COMMISSION ACTION <br /> 1. The Plan Commission, in its advisory role to the City Council, may make a recommendation to approve <br /> the request to rezone the property from R-1 to B-2 Commercial or to recommend to the City Council that <br /> the petition be denied. <br /> 2. Section XXII.A.2. requires the Ptan Commission to hold a public hearing on a rezoning request and then <br /> forward its report and recommendation to the City Council for final approval. A motion to forward <br /> Calendar Number 06-22 to the City Council with a recommendation for approval is suggested. <br /> The above report constitutes the testimony and recommendation of the Planning and Economic Development <br /> Division, Economic and Urban Development Department, City of Decatur. <br /> Mark L.
