There will continue to be bus service every 30 minutes as there is
f the Cit . The only thing that would change with the elimination of the Millikin Area Trolley is
that there will no lon er be free tri s to and from downtown for Millikin students and faculty.
g — P
free tri s have been recorded in the ast 12 months there is no indication that the
Since only 541 p p ,
free rides or the Millikin Area Trolley are important to the Millikin students.
Service to two large areas is being improved from one bus every 2 hours, just 6 trips per day, to
one bus per hour, 13 trips per day. Areas receiving improved service include W. Main St. from
Dipper Lane to the Decatur Conference Center and Hotel; and South Side Dr. and the Enterprise
School area, including the new Decatur Township office and the new senior citizen housing on
S. Main St. Unfortunately, these increases in service come at the cost of the reduction in service
for one small area. The area of the current#62 Oakland route lying north of W. Main St. will
have service reduced from one bus every 30 minutes to one bus per hour. Since the area losing
service is much smaller than the area gaining service, staff finds the change to be justified.
