Marley, P.E., Director o ngineerin & Inftast -ruci`ure g SUBJECT: Amendment to Annual Sewer Televising Program, City Project 08-19 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing $160,000 in additional funds for an agreement with Tele Sca.n, Inc., for pipeline inspection services as part ofthe Annual Sewer Inspection Program, City Project 08-19. The resolution authorizes $160,000 in addition to the$400,000 authorized on Apri17, 2008, for a total authorized expenditure of$560,000 for pipeline televising, manhole inspections, and other inspection and investigative work necessary in the maintenance of the City's sanitary sewer system BACKGROUND: Prior Council Action • November 19, 2007 -The City Council approved Resolution No. R2007-223 authorizing a $50,543 agreement with Eastern Illinois University(EIU)to obtain global positioning coordinates on all manhole and inlet structures in the City as part of preparing an accurate Geographical Information System(GIS) map of the City's sanitary and storm sewer infrastructure. • Apri17, 2008 - The City Council approved Resolution No. R2008-50 authorizing a$400,000 agreement with Tele Scan, Inc. (TSI) for pipeline televising, manhole inspections, and other inspection and investigative work necessary in the maintenance of the City's sanitary sewer system. • Apri121, 2008- The City Council approved Resolution No. R2008-54 authorizing a$96,000 agreement with EIU to draw a map of the City's sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water distribution systems based on the global positioning coordinates obtained on valves, hydrants, manholes, and inlets in the systems. • Apri121, 2008 - The City Council approved Resolution No. 2008-55 authorizing a$135,000 agreement with Bainbridge, Gee, Milanksi&Associates (BGM) to perform technical review and quality control of the GIS sewer map being prepared by EIU for the City of Decatur.
