. � � • <br /> AGREEMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Decatur, Illinois, desires to cooperate with the Macon County <br /> Soil and Water Conservation District to encourage, promote and establish good soil and ; <br /> water conservation practices in the Lake Decatur Watershed area in order to keep the I'� <br /> soil on the land and reduce fertilizer, herbicide and pesticide runoff into the Lake. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS AGREED by and befinreen the District and the City as <br /> follows: <br /> 1. The term of this Agreement is for twelve (12) months, commencing May 1, <br /> 2008, and ending April 30, 2009. <br /> 2. If the City desires to continue these conservation efforts beyond the time <br /> period of this Agreement, the City and District will develop a proposed <br /> work program. The District will then submit a budget for this work program <br /> to the City for initial review no later than October 31St of the year preceding <br /> the termination of this Agreement. <br /> 3. The District will, when requests are submitted in a timely manner, provide <br /> to the City research, review and recommendations for the Upper <br /> Sangamon River (Lake Decatur) Watershed Planning Committee, <br /> subcommittee activities, City requested USDA NRCS watershed <br /> management plan addressing sediment as the main resource concern, <br /> watershed nitrate and sediment management alternatives, City agricultural <br /> field activities, Heart of the Sangamon River Partnership, Agricultural <br /> Watershed Institute, public and private grants and other City staff <br /> requests. The City recognizes that the recommendations may require <br /> District Board approval. <br /> 1 <br />
