The Phase Two Implementation stage involves
connections of the approximated 7.1 million linear feet of sewer storm water and
water main facilities to the approximated 28,620 infrastructural amenities within a
50 square mile area of the City of Decatur. This is inclusive of the cities of Mt Zion
and Forsyth, for sanitary sewer collection systems. These data will be delivered in
two turn-key GIS models: Sewer - Storm Water and Water Utilities complete with
Spatial and Attribute Domains customized to the requirements of Municipal Services
Division, Water Services Division, and the City of Decatur Fire Department. Utility
Network maps will be printed and delivered to Water Services Division and TSI as
field work progresses. Please see attached Implementation Work Flow.
The Sewer - Storm Water and Water Utilities Networks will be implemented
by a team of recently graduated Geography majors who have been an integral part
of the Decatur GIS Initiative from its beginning. This approach will permit our new
Phase II initiative to move forward on a full-time basis using those individuals who
are most familiar with the infrastructural amenities of the City of Decatur. As per the
City of Decatur Phase II Work Flow, initial utility network maps will be remitted to
both Water Services Division and TSI for keyed markup in preparation for revision
