.

BID DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 2, 2007
DECATUR PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM
-PURCHASE OF ONE FULL SIZE 12 PASSENGER VAN -
Three completed bids were received by the appointed time for bid opening on November 2nd.
Bids were received frorn Bob Ridings, Miles Chevrolet, and Jackson Ford. Following are the
bids of each company:
BIDDER YEAR/MAKE/MODEL BID
Bob Ridin s, Inc. 2008 Ford E 350 E31 Van $22,995.00
Jackson Ford, Inc. 2008 Ford E 350 Van $22,466.49
Miles Chevrolet, Inc. 2008 Chevrolet Ex ress Van $21,296.00*
* Includes $200.00 charge for rear mud/snow tires.
All bids were acceptable with respect to the vehicle specifications, although all bids contained
slight variances from the stated specifications. For example the Ford van's battery has slightly
fewer cold cranking amperes (CCA)than required, and the windows in the rear door are fixed,
not"vent"type. Also, the Chevrolet van has a larger engine, but a smaller payload capacity than
specified. I have deterrnined that the variances offered by each bidder are acceptable, andthat all
other requirements of the bidding process have been satisfactorily met.
  `C

Paul McChan y
Mass Transit Administrator
November 5, 2007
