 ii

1 ~ I
The bid submitted by Bodine Electric has been judged to be a non-responsive bid. The bidding
documents clearly required the inclusion of a document entitled"Certified Apprenticeship
Training Program," BLR form 12325. Illinois Department of Transportation Field Engineer,
Nita Miller, was present and indicated that failure to include that document was not a technicality
that could be waived by the City. IDOT has recommended that Bodine Electric's bid be rejected
as non-responsive, and the contract be awarded to Egizii Electric, Inc. Bodine Electric has been
informed of IDOT's recommendation not to award the bid to Bodine because of failure to
complete all required bidding documents.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There is a possible objection from Bodine Electric
of Decatur to this bid award.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director for Engineering &
Infrastructure, at 424-2747
Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747
Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the
Council on this item.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
Funding for this project is budgeted in the Motor Fuel Tax Fund with $66,283.76 of the cost
being reimbursed by the Illinois Department of Transportation. The recommended low bid '
amount is $120,515.92. '
This work should begin in October and be completed by May, 2008.
