1� <br /> a <br /> Staff recommends Traffic Control Corporation as the lowest responsible bidder. The LED <br /> lamps, proposed by Traffic Control Corporation meet IDOT and City specifications. Traffic <br /> Control Corporation provided LED lights to the City for the last major upgrade and they have <br /> proven to be very reliable. <br /> Of the $222,328.00 proposed to be expended for materials, $170,675.00 will be reimbursed by <br /> the LED grant. Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Traffic Control <br /> Corporation to provide LED traffic signal lenses to the City. , <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution I <br /> and bid award. TraStar, Inc. has been informed of � <br /> the recommendation to award the material purchase <br /> contract to Traffic Control Corp. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Illinois Department of Transportation, Region 3, <br /> District 7, Effingham, Illinois. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marle Director for En ineerin & <br /> Y� g g <br /> Infrastructure, at 424-2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the <br /> Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Funding for this project is budgeted in the Motor Fuel Tax Fund with$170,675.00 of the <br /> expenditure being reimbursed by a grant from Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation. <br /> The recommended bid amount is $222,328.00. <br /> A project is currently being prepared to install the LED lenses at the traffic signals located on <br /> State Routes through the City.
