DEPARTMENT OF WATER MANAGEMENT
Memorandum No. 2007-14
' June 12, 2007
TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council
FROM: Steve Garm City Manager
John A. Smit , Assistant City Manager for Public Services .
Keith D. Alexander, Director of Water Management I ,
SUBJECT: Temporary Easement Payment to Mr. and Mrs. Cloyd and Ruth Bolt I
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing payment to Mr. and Mrs. Bolt in the amount
of$6,609 for a temporary easement.
BACKGROUND:
In our dredging operations, dredged material is piped to the City's Oakley Township sediment
storage site. Excess water is then returned to Lake Decatur by use of a small stream. Since the
City does not own the land between Lake Decatur and the storage site, temporary easements
were obtained several years ago to install the pipeline and use the stream. Recently the
easements were renegotiated since they have expired. Three of the nine easements required
compensation of over $5,000 each. Therefore, Council must approve these three payments.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION:
None.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES:
H. L.
