l <br /> Scope of Services <br /> MMA will prepare an Implementation Program for Decatur's Urban <br /> Cot'ridors,Attractive Routes to the City's Homes,Businesses and Industries, an illustrated <br /> report with eathibits that can be enlarged and used for special purposes. <br /> Elements within the corridor areas may include: <br /> 1. Sidewalks,pedestrian crossings and special pavements and elements to promote <br /> pedestrian safety within the corridor. <br /> 2. Street lights, sidewalk lighting and accent lights of various types. <br /> 3. Bus stops and shelters,park and ride facilities, bike parking areas,mailing centers <br /> and other transportation amenities. <br /> 4. Place identifiers such as gateways, monuments,towers and symbolic images. <br /> 5. Street furnishings such as benches, bollards, trash recepta.cles,kiosks and planters. <br /> 6. Signs of various types. Within the rights-of-way, signs include neighborhood <br /> identification signs, directional and regulatory signs. On private property, signs <br /> include business name and information signs. <br /> 7. Street Trees <br /> 8. Shrubs, flowers, groundcover and grasses along the streets and within yards of <br /> private property. <br /> 9. Other elements for safety, beauty and variety such as retaining walls, barricades, <br /> fences, railings and curbs. <br /> 10. Building Facades along the routes. <br /> MMA will provide the following: <br /> 1. Work closely with planning and economic development staff to select and refine <br /> the above elements that are suited to each comdor area. <br /> 2. Coordinate public working meetings. 12 are anticipated, 2 for each corridor. <br /> 3. Treatments for each Corridor and Sub-Corridor <br /> • Develop specific treatments for each corridor and corridor sub-section. <br /> • Develop details and prepare guidelines for how and where to use specific <br /> elements. <br /> • Evaluate the potential for public and private participation in projects. <br /> 4. Devise overlay ordinances for city regulated elements including signs, lighting <br /> and landscape. <br /> 5. Identify strategies for executing plans such as identifying public agencies with <br /> authority,means of engaging private cooperation,phasing of work for fund <br /> availability. <br /> 6. Prepare e�chibits and materials to generate interest and secure funds for particular <br /> proj ects. <br /> 7. Prepare final report including all materials. <br />
