Product <br /> The product of Task 1 will be a report that presents all information collected and the results of <br /> the two surveys. <br /> Decisions and or Actions Needed by City <br /> The City will need to approve the survey methodology and survey instruments prior to execution <br /> of the surveys. The City will help coordinate the scheduling of the individual interviews and <br /> may provide support in the survey effort. <br /> Task 2: Analysis <br /> Purpose <br /> The purpose of Task 2 is to examine the information obtained in Task 1 relative to the objectives <br /> of this study as identified by the City in the Request for Proposals. <br /> Approach <br /> The Contractor will prepare an analysis that assesses: <br /> • Whether the current trolley service has an impact on the City's economy; <br /> • Whether the Downtown Trolley route facilitates the efficient use of parking resources; <br /> • Whether there is a relationship between the attraction or retention of businesses and <br /> trolley routing; <br /> • Whether there is a relationship between riders and businesses and attraction of shoppers <br /> to businesses along trolley routes; and <br /> • Whether the trolleys attract visitors to Decatur. <br /> The Contractor then will host a series of workshops that will include business owners, the public, <br /> representatives of City staff (transit, public works, economic development), and community <br /> groups, such as the Chamber of Commerce, the Downtown Decatur Council, the Economic <br /> Development Corporation, the Convention and Visitor's Bureau, etc. The purposes of these <br /> workshops will be to facilitate an in depth understanding of the trolley service and its strengths <br /> and limitations, and to identify public misperceptions about the trolleys. <br /> Based on the results of these workshops, the Contractor will address unmet needs that could be <br /> met by additional or modified trolley service. These needs will lead to development of options <br /> that will be carried forward to the next task. <br /> Product <br /> The product of this task will be a report that presents the results of the analysis work and the <br /> conclusions following the workshops. <br /> Decisions Needed by City <br /> None. <br /> Decatur Public Transit System $ Trolley Study <br />
