. <br /> . <br /> � <br /> Mass Transit Memorandum <br /> No. 100406-1 <br /> October 4,2006 <br />, TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council <br /> FROM: Steve Garm ity Manager <br />� Paul McCh , Mass Transit Administrato���,, <br /> SUBJECT: Purchase Order for One Pickup Truck with Snow Plow and Lift Gate <br /> SUMMARY Staff recommends that Council adopt a Resolution awarding a <br /> RECONIlVIENDATION: purchase order for one pickup truck with snow plow and lift gate <br /> to the lowest bidder, Jackson Ford, Inc. <br /> BACKGROIJND: On September 1, 2006,the Decatur Public Transit System placed <br /> an advertisement in the Herald& Review newspaper requesting <br /> sealed bids for furnishing the City with one pickup truck with <br /> snow plow and lift gate. Complete bid packages were mailed to 12 <br /> new car and truck dealers in the Decatur area, as well as to any <br /> dealership that requested this information. Three bids were <br /> received by the published bidding deadline on October 2nd. All <br /> bids were acceptable with respect to the vehicle specifications, <br /> although all bids contained slight variances from the sta.ted <br /> specifications. The vaziances offered were acceptable and all other <br /> requirements of the bidding process were satisfactorily met. As <br /> shown on the attached tabulation of bids the lowest bidder was <br /> Jackson Ford, Inc. with a bid of$27,913.70. <br /> POTENTIAL No known objection to awarding the purchase order to Jackson <br /> OBJECTION: Ford, Inc. <br /> INPUT FROM James Gillum, Maintenance Superintendent <br /> OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Public Transit System <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator <br /> BUDGET/TIlVIE Staff has already obtained a federal grant for 80% of this purchase. <br /> IlVIPLICATIONS: City funds have been budgeted for the remaining 20%. <br />
