. �. _ <br /> � <br /> COUNCIL MEMORANDUM <br /> • #2006-13 <br /> DATE: October 11, 2006 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor Osborne and City Council <br /> FROM: Steve , City Manager <br /> SUBJECT: Contributi to Decatur Macon County Senior Center <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends approval of the attached resolution authorizing a contribution of <br /> $20,000 to the Decatur Macon County Senior Center. The funds would be used for <br /> general maintenance and facilities upkeep. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The Decatur Macon County Senior Center provides social, economic and life-skills <br /> services to area seniors. The group moved to its current location on North 22°d street in <br /> • 2003 and since that time has been looking to raise funds for maintenance and upkeep. <br /> The city currently provides $71,000 annually to the group, which also receives funding <br /> from the state and from local donations. If this allocation is approved, staff would <br /> recommend payouts of$10,000 in each of our ne�two fiscal years. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objectors. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Macon County Senior <br /> Center, 429-1239 <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: N/A <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Funding would be provided from the <br /> City's contingency fund. <br /> • <br />
