Travis St nley, Civil Engineer I � SUBJECT: Concrete Pavement Restoration Country Manor/Faries Parkway City Project 06-11 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the contract for Concrete Pavement Restoration Country Manor / Faries Parkway, City Project 06-11, to Beniach Construction Company, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $316,332.50 to reconstruct portions of Country Manor and Faries Parkway, and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. ' BACKGROUND: A portion of this project is to reconstruct portions the remaining unimproved concrete streets in the Country Manor Estates subdivision, on the City's east side, as shown on the enclosed drawing. This work will repair those streets that were not improved in last year's reconstruction work in the subdivision. Work is also planned for a failed section of Faries Parkway just west of Brush College Road (see attached map). The work on Faries Parkway may require the westbound portion of the street to be closed for up to a week while the road base is stabilized and some minor improvements are made to the storm drains. The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project was advertised July 14, 2006, and bids were opened on July 31, 2006. The results for the letting are as follows: Compared to Engineer's Est.
