empowered special district that is necessary to the conduct of government or the <br /> furnishing of public infrastructure or services over which such government exercises <br /> direct and complete control. <br /> GRADE: For the purposes of Section XXVII, Wireless facilities, the lowest point of <br /> elevation of the finished surface of the ground,paving or sidewalk within the area <br /> between the structure and the property line or,when the property line is more than 5 <br /> feet from the structure,between the structure and a line 5 feet from the structure. For <br /> all other parts of this Ordinance, a reference plane representing the mean of the <br /> finished ground level adjoining a building at all exterior walls. When the finished <br /> ground level slopes away from the exterior walls, the reference plane shall be <br /> established by the lowest points within the area between the building and the lot line; <br /> or, when the lot line is no more than six (6)feet from the building,between the <br /> building and a point six(6) feet from the building. <br /> GROSS LEASABLE AREA(GLA): The total floor area for which the tenant pays rent <br /> and that is designated for the tenants'occupancy and exclusive use. See also Floor <br /> area—net. <br /> GUYED TOWER: A communication tower that is supported, in whole or in part,by guy <br /> wires and ground anchors. <br /> HISTORIC NEIGHBORHOOD USE: A use of land in any locally designated Historic <br /> District or any National Register Historic District, or an identified Historic and <br /> Architectural Landmark as established by Ordinance 78-159 that,with appropriate <br /> controls and under specific conditions, is consistent with and preserves the essential <br /> character and nature of the surrounding neighborhood,but which is not otherwise <br /> listed herein as a permitted use in the particular zoning district applicable to the <br /> property in question. <br /> HOME OCCUPATION: Any occupation or activity entirely incidental to residential use, <br /> I when(1) carried on in the Main Building c-�F-�r-�+���r}�+�+r��+�r�,+H-e-�It�f <br /> �I+=+t �u�+�+4��+++�f�+�+� �I��t�-�����e and is not used primarily or <br /> exclusively for the home occupation; (2) is carried on by a member of the immediate <br /> family,residing on the premises, (3)there is no commodity displayed or sold upon <br /> the premises; (4)no person is employed other than a member of the immediate family <br /> residing on the premises; and(5)no mechanical equipment is used except of a type <br /> that is similar in character to that normally used for purely domestic or household <br /> purposes. <br /> Home occupation shall also include: private tutoring limited to three pupils at any <br /> one time; nursery schools limited to three pupils; musical instruction limited to a <br /> single pupil at a time and a maximum of four hours of instruction per day; day care <br /> home, small; architects,professional engineers, surveyors, and other professional <br /> persons,provided that no person is employed other than a member of the immediate <br /> family residing on the premises. However, a home occupation shall not be <br /> interpreted to include barber shops and beauty parlors,palm reading/tarot card <br /> reading or similar business in which spiritual advice or fortune telling is conducted <br /> � for a fee; commercial stables,kennels, or any kind of automotive service and repair <br /> II-13 EXHIBIT A <br />
