Staff recommends <br /> denial of the petition to rezone 2110 East Pythian Avenue. <br /> PLAN COMMISSION ACTION <br /> 2. The Plan Commission in its advisory role to the City Council is to make recommendation to <br /> approve, modify or deny petitions based on the requirements of the Zoning Ordinance and the <br /> Comprehensive Plan. In rezoning petitions, effects of the approved land uses for the proposed <br /> zoning district on the public health safety and general welfare of the City and its citizens need to <br /> be considered. <br /> 3. Section XXIX. requires the Plan Commission to hold a public hearing on a rezoning request, and <br /> then forward its report and recommendation to the City Council for final approval. A motion to <br /> forward Calendar Number OS-42 to the City Council with a recommendation for approval as <br /> amended is suggested. <br /> The above report constitutes the testimony and recommendation of the Planning and Economic <br /> Development Division, Economic and Urban Development Department, City of Decatur. <br /> Joselyn A.
