C. If the site is secured with a locked gate, a Knox lock will be required for emergency
vehicle access.
Section XXII requires Conditional Use requests be submitted to the Plan Commission for
a public hearing for report and a study on the effect of the proposed use on the
comprehensive plan and on the character and development of the neighborhood. A
motion to forward the request of Cal. No. OS-Ol to the City Council with a
recommendation of approval is suggested.
Mr. Elmer Hawkins, representative for the petitioner, was sworn in by Ms. Jesse.
Mr. Hawkins stated that the property would only be used as an auto storage yard and not
a salvage yard. The vehicles brought into this storage yard will be any vehicle that
needed to be moved due to repossession, abandoned vehicles, etc. Mr. Hawkins stated he
would appreciate the Plan Commission passing the petition for the Conditional Use
Permit for this property.
Mrs. Stewart questioned Mr. Hawkins whether the City of Decatur was a customer of
Gregg's towing. Mr. Hawkins stated they were not.
No objectors were present.
It was moved and seconded(Smith/Anderson)to forward Cal.No. OS-01 to the City
Council with the recommendation for approval as submitted by petitioner. Motion
carried unanimously.
