CHAPTER 69 ELECTRICAL CODE ADDITIONS AND 10. CODE APPLICATIONS - SPECIFIC. C. Swimming Pools 1. N.E.C. 680.2 Definitions. (� Permanently Installed Swimming, Wading, and Therapeutic Pools. Those that are constructed in the ground. or the major portion in the ground, and all pools installed inside of a building, regardless of water depth, whether or not served bv electrical circuits of anv nature. fbl Storable swimming or wadin�pool. Those that have the major portion on or above the �round, or a pool with non-metallic, molded polvmeric walls or inflatable fabric walls re�ardless of dimension. 2. N.E.C. 680.23. Underwater Luminaries. This section covers all luminaries (li�� fixtures) installed below the normal water of the pool. (a Volta�e Limitation. No luminaries (lighting fixtures� shall be installed for operation on supplv circuits over 15 volts between conductors. 3. N.E.C.680.31 Pumps. Storable Pools. (a� A cord-connected pool filter pump shall incorporate an approved svstem of double insulation or its e�uivalent and sha.11 be provided with means for �roundin� onlv the internal and non-accessible non-current carrving metal parts of the appliance. The means for groundin� shall be an equipment �roundin� conductor run with the power-supply conductors in the flexible cord that is properly terminated in a groundin�-type attachment plug havin�a fixed grounding contact member. Pumps shall be listed as "storable type" bv a reco�,nized listin�a encv that is acceptable to the authoritv having jurisdiction. (b Receptacles providin�power to the pool filter pump sha11 be located a miniinum of ten (101 feet from the edge of the pool. Branch circuit wiring to the rece�tacles shall be installed in a method as described in Section 680.21 of the N.E.C. except underground wiring shall be installed in an �nroved racewa�
