R2005-155 ACCEPTING THE BID AND AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT

1 • As in past years, staff desires the ability to be more responsive to the citizens of the City by making a strong effort to improve the timeliness of necessary sidewalk replacement / repair. Added sidewalk replacement volume will improve the condition of the City's sidewalks in the Concord/Phoenix Park neighborhood area. WAS CON Co., provided the low bid for the proposed work. Staff recommends that the City Council award a contract with WAS CON Co. to perform the Concord / Phoenix Park Neighborhood Sidewalk Replacement Project. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: Funding for this project will come from the Community Development Block Grant Fund. The recommended low bid amount is $69,482.00. The resolution also authorizes an increase to the project amount up to $87,500. The project is scheduled to begin November, 2005, and should be completed by April, 2005.
