r
,y ..
STAFF REFERENCES: Les Albert, Fire Chief- 424-2811
Mark Hansen, Deputy Fire Chief- 424-2811
Ron Neufeld, Finance Director—424-2702
Tom Serfass,Fleet Supervisor—875-5718
Steve Swanson, Director E & I—424-2747
Phil Wilhelm, M.S. Manager—875-4820
The Fire Chief, Les Albert will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer
any questions of the City Council on this item.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
As indicated earlier, only a portion of the funds necessary to replace this truck ($331,600)
have been transferred into the Equipment Replacement Fund, since the equipment
replacement schedule called for the truck to be replaced in FY12. Therefore it is the
recommendation of staff that the City borrow the money to buy the truck, and increase
the transfer from the Fire Department into the Equipment Replacement Fund to make up
the difference.
A decision to purchase must be made as soon as possible in order to meet the deadline of
purchasing the truck through the Northwest Municipal Conference. Failure to meet that
deadline will increase the cost of the truck by approximately $59,000 and delay the
delivery by about twelve months.
