PART 4 <br /> SCOPE OF SERVICE/RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> A. Maintenance. To operate and maintain specific portions of the State highway system <br /> including, but not limited to, all routine surface and pothole repairs, temporary full-depth <br /> patches, expansion bump removal on bituminous surfaces, crack and joint sealing, <br /> cleaning and litter pickup, snow and ice control and all other routine operational services. <br /> Median maintenance, when applicable, shall consist of sweeping, litter pickup, mowing <br /> and routine surface repairs. <br /> The GovERrvMENTA�Bo�Y agrees to permit no cuts or openings in the curbs or pavements <br /> of the streets covered by this agreement without the written approval of the DEPaRTMErvT. <br /> Pavement cuts, curb openings, utility frames and municipal frames and grates or covers <br /> disturbed by settlement, construction or repair under permit are to be restored, repaired, <br /> adjusted and maintained by the utility owner or permit holder to the satisfaction of the <br /> DEPARTMENT 8t f10 @Xp@IISe t0 the DEPARTMENT. <br /> The GOVERNMENTAL BODY agrees that, except ifl extreme emergencies, It WIII IIOt <br /> undertake or authorize repairs not covered by this agreement, at the expense of the <br /> DEPARTMENT,WIthOUt S2CUCIf19 th@ BppPOVBI Of th@ DEPARTMENT. <br /> PaRr 5 <br /> COMPENSATION FOR SERVICES <br /> A. Cost. Eligible compensation for services will be calculated in accordance with the <br /> DepartmenYs Bureau of Operations Maintenance Policy Manual, Section 11 — Municipal <br /> Maintenance of State Highways. In consideration for the satisfactory maintenance and <br /> operation of streets covered by this agreement, the DEPARTMENT will pay the <br /> GOVERNMENTAL BODY $ 96,667.88 for the first finrelve-month period covered by the <br /> agreement., payable as described below. Subject to availability of funds, the rate of <br /> compensation will be adjusted annually (beginning July 1 st) for the next twelve-month <br /> interval to reflect changes in miles maintained and costs. The cost adjustment factor used <br /> to determine the rates of compensation will be the percent change of the Construction <br /> Cost Index published in the Engineering News Record for the preceding calendar year. <br /> On or about September 30�h, December 31S', March 31St, and June 30th of each fiscal year <br /> (July 1 St through June 30th), subject to an inspection by the DEPARTMENT, th2 DEPARTMENT <br /> will process an Invoice Voucher addressed to the Governmental Body for an amount equal <br /> to approximately one-fourth of the total annual allowance stated above. In order to <br /> process this Invoice Voucher, the Governmental Body shall endorse the Invoice Voucher <br /> and return the endorsed original to the address listed on the accompanying letter. <br /> B. Billing.
