� � RESOLUTION NO. R2005- 73 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS TAXICAB SERVICES FOR THE TRANSIT SYSTEM'S "OPERATION UPLIFT" WHEREAS, bids were opened on May 16, 2005, for taxicab companies to provide transportation services for people with disabilities under the Transit System's "Operation Uplift" program,with two bids being submitted; and WHEREAS, the lowest bidder, Cabs R Us, Inc., has been found to be a qualified and responsible firm, and competent to perform the work required; and WHEREAS, the invitation for bids states that the City may "enter into identical Agreements with other vendors, ... offering the exact same terms and fare schedule." BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That the tabulation of the bids submitted for furnishing taxicab services to the Transit System under"Operation Uplift"be received and placed on file. Section 2. That the lowest bid, submitted by Cabs R Us, Inc., be accepted and an Agreement be executed accordingly. Section 3. That the City Manager and the City Clerk of the City of Decatur be, and they are hereby, authorized and directed to execute, seal and attest an Agreement between the City of Decatur, Illinois, and Cabs R Us, Inc., for furnishing taxicab services to the Transit System under "Operation Uplift". Section 4. That, at the City Manager's sole discretion, the City Manager and the City Clerk of the City of Decatur be, and they are hereby, authorized to execute, seal and attest Agreements, offering the exact same terms and fare schedule as agreed to with Cabs R Us, Inc., between the City of Decatur, Illinois, and other qualified vendors wishing to furnish taxicab services to the Transit System under"Operation Uplift".
