- MINUTES OF PUBLIC HEARING - <br /> Decatur Public Transit Svstem <br /> A public hearing was held on Wednesda�-, February 16, 200�, from 3:4� p.m. to 6:4� p.m., in the <br /> Senator Severns Transit Center, 3�3 E. William St., Decatur. The purpose of the public hearinb <br /> was to receive public comment on Decatur's intention to file mass transit operating and capital <br /> assistance grant applications with the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) and with the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation (IDOT). <br /> The notice of the hearing was published in the Decatur Herald & Review newspaper on Friday, <br /> February 4th. Notices were also posted in the Transit Center and in all of the City's buses and <br /> wheelchair-lift vans. <br /> The hearing was opened at 3:45 p.m. by Paul McChancy, Mass Transit Administrator; the <br /> hearing was officially closed at 6:45 p.m. Three people attended the hearing, but only one person <br /> expressed an opinion about Transit System funding: "Get as much money as you can." <br /> The published notice of the hearing also stated that written comments would be accepted by mail, <br /> by delivery, by FAX, and by e-mail until noon on February 21 st.
