HOME funds are being allocated to assist in the
construction of an additional 18 units (Heritage Fields)which is expected
to be completed in 2004; and plans are underway for additional units.
Heritage will also expand the available network of supportive services
linked to housing.
:. This
calls for increased attention to code enforcement and compliarice with
local ordinances. The City of Decatur takes an aggressive approach to
code enforcement, and it assists residents with voluntary compliance with
local codes and ordinances. The City employs six Neighborhood Services
Officers (NSO's) who have the primary responsibility of enforcing code
violations.
12
