� , . <br /> � .. , <br /> PRAIRIELAND TOWING,INC. <br /> POLICY RELATING TO RELEASE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY CONTAINED WITHIN <br /> VEHICLES TOWED AT THE DIRECTION OF DECATUR POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> Introduction <br /> Prairieland contracts with the City of Decatur for the towing and storage of vehicles as may <br /> be directed by the Decatur Police Depaztment. This policy applies to personal property contained in <br /> any,�vehicle towed and stored by Prairieland at the request or direction of the Decatur Police <br /> Department, except those vehicles that are directed by the Decatur Police Department to be held <br /> absent express releas�by the Decatur Police Department. <br /> Duties of Dispatchers <br /> Upon the request for release of personal property(not properiy becoming part of the vehicle, <br /> such a speakers,tires,wheels,etc.)contained within a vehicle towed and stored by Prairieland at the <br /> request or direction of the Decatur Police Department,the dispatcher shall: <br /> (1)deal with the individual requesting release ofpersonal property in <br /> a polite and professional manner; <br /> (2) request the claimant to (a) complete the release request form by <br /> providing a description of the personal property for which release is <br /> requested (b) execute and date the release request form and (c) <br /> provide identification of the claimant(if the claimant states that his <br /> identification is in the vehicle towed and stored by Prairieland, the <br /> dispatcher will have the identification retrieved by a Prairieland <br /> employee); <br /> (3) upon satisfaction of the requirements of(2) herein, rel�ease the <br /> personal property to the claimant unless the property is of such a <br /> nature that its possession or transportation by the claimant may be .
