Berard, Civil Engineer II /'�.{a, II <br /> `�,��. <br /> SUBJECT: Water Main Extension/Replacement, City Project 2003-01 �i <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the <br /> contract for Water Main Extension / Replacement, City Project 2003-01, to Bodine Services, <br /> Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of $139,950.00, and that the Mayor be <br /> authorized to execute the contract, and the City Clerk to attest. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> The City's Annual Water Main Extension/Replacement Program involves the installation of new <br /> water mains to extend the City's water distribution system and improve the system's reliability <br /> and service. Water main extensions will serve new customers that have requested service or to <br /> facilitate the accessibility to the City's water distribution system by future developments. Water <br /> main replacements will replace portions of the existing water distribution mains that have <br /> reached the limit of their lifetime. <br /> This year's program includes three extensions as described here below: <br /> 1) Midiron Drive. This is an extension of the distribution system to new <br /> customers. <br /> 2) Allison Drive. This is an extension of the distribution system to new customers. <br /> 3) Lake Ridge Avenue. This is a replacement of a section of the distribution system. <br /> ' <br />
