Anderson Plaza <br /> Decatur, IL 62523-1196 <br /> RE: Letter of Understanding for Jurisdictional Transfer-Mound ftd. &Baltimore <br /> Ave. <br /> Steve: <br /> This document will serve as a Letter of Understanding between the City of Decatur and the <br /> Macon County Highway Department concerning the Jurisdictional Transfer of the following <br /> roads: <br /> ➢ County Highway 22 (Mound Rd.) from Ill. Rt. 121 easterly to Brush College Road. <br /> ➢ Baltimore Ave. from just south of Bentonville Road northerly to U.S. 36. <br /> Mound Road is to be transferred to the City of Decatur from Macon County. The portions of <br />' Baltimore Ave. under the jurisdiction of the City of Decatur will be transferred to Macon <br />' County from the City of Decatur. The dates of transfer and particulars of the transfers are as <br />' follows: <br /> Mound Road. : The western portion of Mound Road from Ill. Rt. 121 to the east curb line of <br /> Mart�n Luther King Jr. Drive will be transferred when the required documentation is approved <br /> by the Illinois Department of Transportation. It is anticipated that this will occur during the <br /> fall of 2003. <br /> The remaining portion of Mound Road from the east curb line on Martin Luther Ki.ng Jr. Drive <br /> easterly to Brush College Road will be transferred on July 1, 2007. This transfer is dependant <br /> on the City of Decatur inspecting the portion of Mound Road and providing a letter of <br /> acceptance to the Macon County Engineer by January 1, 2007. Any repairs requested by the <br /> City shall be negotiated and agreed to by both parties prior to the transfer to the City. <br /> The intersection of Mound and Lourdes has recently had a study completed to determine if <br /> traffic signals are warranted. Both the County and the City agree that several warra.nts have <br /> been met and that signaLs may be warranted for this location. Both parties agree to further <br /> study the location to determine if other remedial measures would be better suited for this <br /> location at this ti.me. Both parties agree to pursue funding for safety improvements at this <br /> location and if funding should become available the monies will be applied to achieve the best- <br />
