Page 2
Hoerr Construction is a construction firm located in the Peoria area. City Engineering has made
and extensive review of Hoerr's references and have found them to be reliable and respected for
their work. They have completed projects for the cities of Pontiac, East Peoria, Rushville and
various private businesses. Those individuals contacted were highly complimentary of Hoerr's
sewer cleaning work. Their sewer cleaning quantities for these facilities have been less than the
City's proposed cleaning project, however, Hoerr's representatives are confident in the bid they
have submitted and in their ability to undertake the responsibility of the project. The City will
have a performance bond and a completion date in place along with a specification that will
assure a proper cleaning of the sewer lines.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution
and bid award.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None
STAFF REFERENCE: Steve Swanson,Director of Eng. and Infrastructure, at 424-2747
Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747
The Director of Engineering and Infrastructure, Steve Swanson, will be in attendance at the City
Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on this item.
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
Funding for this project will be from the City's Sanitary Sewer Fund. The recommended low bid
amount is $88,750.00.
The project is scheduled to begin July, 2003, and should be completed by the first of November.
h•
attac . 2
cc: John Smith, Assistant City Manager of Public Services
Phil Wilhelm, Municipal Services Manager
Hoerr Construction, Inc.
Bodine Services, Inc.
