' SECTION 5 — EN
VIRONMENTAL DATA REVIEW
' A historical records and database search was conducted for the property (Exhibit E). This
search included review of the following records for actual and potential environmental threats
within a search radius of the property established by industry standards (ASTM E1527):
1. National Priorities List (NPL)
2. State Priority Sites (SPL)
 3. RCRA Facilities Undergoing Corrective Action (CORRACTS)
4. Comprehensive Environmental Responses Compensation and Liability
Information Systems (CERCLIS)
' S. No Further Remedial Action Planned Sites (NFRAP)
6. Treatment Storage and Disposal Site (RCRIS-TSDC)
 7. Solid Waste Disposal Sites (SWLF)
8. Leaking Underground Storage Tanks Incident (LUST)
9. USGS Water Wells (USGS-WELLS)
 10. RCRIS Facilities with Violations (RCRIS-VIOL)
11. Registred Underground Storage Tanks (UST)
12. Inventory of Toxic Chemical Emissions (TRIS)
 13. Emergency Response Notification System (ERNS)
14. RCRIS Large Quantity Generator (RCRA-LQG)
15. RCRIS Small Quantity Generator (RCRIS-SQG)
' That review identified environmental data concerning several properties within a '/4 mile radius.
However, none of these sites pose a significant threat to the subject property.
There are four (4} reported leaking undegound storage tank (LUST) incidents indicated within
1/8th of a mile. Those are 351 N. Main St. (Robert Kowa), 471 S. Main (Bob Rodgers), 509 N.
Water (Brock Oil) and 501 N. Main (Johnson Oil).
The incident files at the Office of State Fire Marshall and the Illinois Environmental Protection
Agency (IEPA) indicate that the incidents at 351 N. Main St. (Robert Kowa) and 501 N. Main
St. (Johnson Oil) have been essentially resolved. The 471 S. Main site (Bob Rodgers)
appears to have improperly abandoned gasoline tanks remaining at the site of a closed service
' station. This site is south and downslope of the subject site and poses no threat. The 509 N.
Water (Brock Oil) site appears to be unresolved. Soil contamination due to a LUST has beer
documented during the removal of gasoline tanks. However, the owner has not proceeded
' with the required clean-up. The IEPA has not proceeded with enforcement actions. The
matter appears dormant at present. However, the site does not pose a significant threat to the
subject property.
The former site of the Illinois Power Town Gas Plant at 515 E. Main St. is on a Site
Remediation Program list indicating some contamination and possible remediation. However,
' that site is nearly '/, mile away and is downslope from the subject site. 'I
 BWC #380-0101.002 Page 7 7/11/01
