INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES:
Input was obtained from Motorola and Barbeck Communication to insure that the addition of
these radios would not normally have a negative impact to public safety communications. System
tests were conducted and it was determined that there would be no negative impact. There are
presently 700+ users on the system which results in a 20% usage of the total system. The
addition of up to 100 radios will result in an increase to the total system usage. During
emergencies, additional radios may hamper communication, but the agreement gives the City the
right to terminate any usage that would impair the communications between public safety
personnel and agencies.
STAFF REFERENCE:
Mike Mowen will be present at council to respond to any questions. If you have any additional
inquiries prior to the council meeting please contact me at 424-2802, or
mike.mowen@decaturnet.org
BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS:
The District will pay $17.00 per radio per month, which will be (+) or (-) $15,000.00 annually.
There is no cost to the City as a result of this agreement. Payments from the Park District will be
placed in the Communications for future system upgrades.
 . ,,
