Page 2 <br /> In recent years it has been the City's desire to get a head start on Motor Fuel Tax funded <br /> construction projects by awarding the major street projects in late April or early May to provide <br /> an excellent opportunity to receive favorable bids and an eazly construction start. The City <br /> Council has generally been comfortable moving forward with Motor Fuel Tax funded proj ects <br /> prior to or in conjunction with finalization of the City budget. The attached resolutions authorize <br /> City staff to prepare projects and solicit bids in cooperation with the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation.
