Alexander, Director of Water Management 1� <br /> ! <br /> SUBJECT: <br /> Lake Decatur Basin 6 Dredging - City Project 9956 <br /> Sediment Storage Facility & Dredge Mobilization Site Agreement <br /> Amendment No. 1 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> City staff recommends Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing Amendment No. 1 to <br /> the Lake Decatur Basin 6 Sediment Storage Facility & Dredge Mobilization Site Agreement <br /> between the City and Koester Contracting Corporation for a cost not to exceed $144,552. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> This Agreement rehabilitates the City's existing sediment storage facility and constructs a dredge <br /> mobilization site adjacent to Lake Decatur. Plans and specifications were prepared by Homer L. <br /> Chastain & Associates and advertised for bid on June 19. Council approved Koester Contracting <br /> Corporation's $2,064,000 bid on August 5. After approval, several events occurred which <br /> delayed the start of actual construction: <br /> August 19 Pre-construction meeting held. Federal and State construction permits estimated <br /> to be acquired by the City by August 31. Koester instructed that they could <br /> perform permitted work on September 7. <br /> August 20 Notice to Proceed with non permitted work issued to Koester. <br /> September 4 All permits not acquired by this date. Koester instructed to not perform permitted <br /> work until all permits were acquired. <br /> September 19 Final permit acquired. Koester authorized to perform permitted work beginning <br /> September 20. <br />
