, r 0. i ' <br /> AMENDMENT NO. 2 <br /> TO <br /> AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br /> Between <br /> CITY OF DECATUR <br /> And <br /> BLACK&VEATCH CORPORATION <br /> This Amendment to the Agreement entered into and executed this 16 th day of, <br /> September , 2002 by and between the City of Decatur hereinafter referred to as <br /> Owner and Black&Veatch Corporation hereinafter referred to as Design Professional. <br /> Whereas, it is the mutual desire of the parties hereto to amend the Agreement for <br /> Engineering Services entered into on September 4, 2001 for expanding the laboratory and <br /> office area at the South Water Treatment Plant City Project No. 2000-31. <br /> Whereas, the Owner will be responsible for contract administration, construction <br /> inspection, construction materials testing, and change order preparation and negotiation. <br /> Therefore, it is hereby agreed that the Agreement be amended to add the following <br /> services during construction to be provided by Design Professional. <br /> l. SCOPES OF SERVICES <br /> A. General <br /> Provide technical support to Owner during construction. By performing these <br /> services, Design Professional shall not have authority or responsibility to <br /> supervise, direct, or control the Contractor's work or the Contractor's means, <br /> methods,techniques, sequences, or procedures of construction. Design <br /> Professional shall not have authority or responsibility for safety precautions <br /> and programs incident to the Contractor's work or for any failure of the <br /> Contractor to comply with laws, regulations, rules, ordinances, codes, or <br /> orders applicable to the Contractor furnishing and performing the work. <br /> Specific services to be performed by Design Professional are as follows: <br /> B. Office Support <br /> 1. Review materials and equipment data(shop drawings) submitted by the <br /> Contractor as required by the technical specifications.
