The specific properties identified to
BODINE are as follows: 820 East Condit (former brass foundry), 859 East Grand (former beer
distributor); and, 644 East Leafland (motor freight station). Decatur, Illinois, hereafter referred to
as Properties. Bodine will assist CLIENT in conducting a Subsurface Investigation of the
Properties as described herein(Project).
A sumirary of recommendations for the three properties from the Phase I Report indicates:
860 East Grand - Records searches did not indicate evidence of USTs determined to be
present at the site; however, there is a potential for past fuel storage
activities at the former beer distributing business.
644 East Leafland - Historical records indicated the presence of operations of a motor freight
station, therefore, some soil sampling appears warranted even though
potential for impact appeazs limited. ,
820 East Condit - Phase II should attempt to identify potential for lead contamination in the
near surface soiLs in the vicinity of the former brass foundry and the
potential for soil and/or groundwater contamination associated with off-site
contamina.nt migration from adjacent former dry cleaning facilities at 101
North Water and 304-328 East Wabash and the adjacent UST and LUST
sites located at 966, 990 and 1058 North Water Street.
BODINE ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES,INC.
