Alexander, Director of Water Management Il� I <br /> �� � <br /> SUBJECT: I! <br /> Lake Decatur Dredging- City Project LC 9956 ' <br /> Dredging Equipment Acquisition ' <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the purchase of a dredge with spud carriage <br /> barge, two booster pumps and one booster pump barge from Dredging Supply Company, Inc., at <br /> a fixed cost of$2,851,685 plus freight. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> On April 1, 2002, Council rejected a dredge bid of $2,268,690 (which did not include two <br /> booster pumps and one booster pump barge) due to a significantly higher than expected price, <br /> and directed staff to undergo direct negotiations with two firms: Baltimore Dredges, LLC, and <br /> Dredging Supply Company, Inc. The negotiations included a dredge with spud carriage barge, <br /> two booster pumps and one booster pump barge.
