Johnston, Manager, MIS Division��' SUBJECT: Information Systems Vendor Selection SUMMARY Staff recommends that City Council approve the attached RECOMMENDATION: resolution, authorizing the City Manager to execute the attached contract with Group 1 Resources, Incorporated, for software vendor selection services. BACKGROUND: Based on the consultanYs report of the need for integrated general government software applications (provided to City Council under separate cover), the City will require professional assistance in software vendor selection. The consultant that conducted the Information Technology (IT) Study for the City, Group 1 Resources, Incorporated, possesses the expertise to provide this service. It is therefore recommended that this firm be retained for the follow up process of vendor selection. The result of the work plan in the attached contract will be to provide the City with one vendor who will be able to best meet the needs for general government software applications for the City's varied business processes. POTENTIAL OBJECTORS: None anticipated. INPUT FROM OTHER By RFQ for the IT Study, 12 firms presented their consulting SOURCES: qualifications. Of the 12 that did so, Group 1 Resources, Inc. was judged to be fully technically qualified and well experienced for this effort. Reference checks (i.e., Cities of Normal, Rock Island, Rockford, Evanston, and Bloomingdale) were all positive. STAFF REFERENCE: Michael Mowen, Assistant City Manager (424-2802); Gerard J.
