� ADULT PICTURE ARCADE: Any place to which the public is permitted or invited where <br /> coin- or token-operated or electronically, electrically or mechanically controlled still or <br /> motion picture machines, projectors, video cassette recorders or players or other image <br /> producing devices are maintained to show images so displaying that are distinguished or <br /> characterized by an emphasis on matters depicting, describing or relating to sexual conduct <br /> or specified anatomical areas, as defined herein. <br /> ALL-WEATHER SURFACE: A dust-free, durable surface other than soil, typically utilized for <br /> parking or storage areas, composed of materials that withstand seasonal degradation and have <br /> sufficient capacity to carry vehicle load without rutting or sinking. <br /> ALLEY: A public or private right-of-way primarily designed to provide access to utilities and to <br /> serve as secondary access to the side or rear of those properties whose principal frontage is <br /> on a public some other street. <br /> ANIMAL KENNEL: An establishment where more than four(4) dogs or cats (except litters of <br /> animals not more than six (6)months of age) are kept,raised, cazed for, or boarded for a fee. <br /> APARTMENT HOUSE: See Dwelling,Multiple. <br /> ASSISTED LNING FACII,ITY: Residences for the elderly that provide rooms,meals,personal <br /> care and supervision of self-administered medication. Residents do not require 24 hour <br /> nursing care. These facilities may provide other services, such as residential activities, <br /> financial counseling, and transportation. <br /> � AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINE (ATM): An automated device that provides banking and <br /> similaz financial functions at a location that is remote from the controlling financial <br /> mstitution. An ATM that is located outdoors on the same site as a financial instrtution is <br /> subject to the same setback requirements as the main building. <br /> AUTOMOBILE REPAIR AND SERVICE: This definition includes the following categories: <br /> Minor: This category includes automotive repair and service activities which, under ordinary <br /> circumstances, generate minimal noise, odor, or traffic. Examples of these uses include <br /> automotive interior and upholstery shops; brake shops; diagnostic centers, including oil <br /> change and lubrication shops; general automotive repair and maintenance; radiator shops; tire <br /> shops; and transmission shops. <br /> Major: This category includes automotive repair and service activities which,under ordinary <br /> circumstances, generate relatively high levels of noise, odor, or traffic.: Examples of these <br /> uses include auto body and paint shops; front-end repair shops; engine rebuilding shops for <br /> gasoline or diesel erigines; frame shops which install springs, shock absorbers, or struts; axle- <br /> straightening establishments; muffler/exhaust system shops; and rustproofing and <br /> undercoating establishments <br /> AUTOMOBILE SERVICE STATION: Any building or structure used for the retail sale of any <br /> automobile fuels and lubricants from no more than six (6)pumps located on no more than <br /> three (3)bays and any combination of one or more of the following uses: (1) retail sale of <br /> new automobile parts, accessories, and supplies when ancillary to the repair and maintenance <br /> of motor vehicles; (2) all uses listed under the definition of Automobile Repair and service— ' <br /> � Minor; and(3)minor repair and maintenance of automobiles and trucks not exceeding a 2- <br /> ton capacity, excluding therefrom all uses defined as Automobile Repair and Service—Major. <br /> 3 <br />
