� SIGN, FREESTANDING: A sign that is attached to, erected on, or supported by some structure <br /> (such as a pole,mast, frame or other structure)that is attached to the ground and is not itself <br /> an integral part of or attached to a building or other structure. For the purposes of this . <br /> Ordinance,this definition does not include Sign, Off-Premise. <br /> SIGN, OFF-PREMISE: A sign structure, either freestanding or attached to a building, <br /> advertising an establishment,merchandise, service, or entertainment,which is not sold, <br /> produced,manufactured, or furnished at the property on which said sign is located. This <br /> definition encompasses biliboards and outdoor advertising signs. <br /> SIGN, ON-PREMISE: A sign that pertains to the use of the premises on which it is located. <br /> SIGN, PORTABLE: A sign constructed of rigid or semi-rigid materials designed to be moved <br /> easily and not permanently affixed to the ground or to a structure or building. Portable signs <br /> shall include,but are not limited to, signs mounted upon a trailer,bench,wheeled camer, or <br /> other non-motorized mobile structure with or without wheels. <br /> SIGN, PROJECTING YARD: A sign attached to the side of a building that projects into the <br /> yard adjacent to the wall on which the sign is attached. Projecting yard signs are generally <br /> designed so that (as distinguished from a wall sign)the advertising faces of the sign are <br /> perpendiculaz to the wall on which the sign is attached. <br /> SIGN, TEMPORARY: A sign designed to advertise goods, services or events of a temporary or <br /> finite nature, such as real estate sales, construction projects, rental or leasing, sales events, or <br /> similar. Temporary signs are generally constructed of non-rigid or semi-rigid materials and <br /> � are designed so as to not be permanently mounted to the ground or to a structure. <br /> SIGN, WALL: A sign fastened to or painted on the vertical exterior surface of a building. This <br /> definition encompasses facade signs. <br /> SINGLE ROOM OCCUPANCY(SRO): A residential unit consisting of one room, occupied by <br /> one person,with lockable exterior doors that are accessible from outside the unit. Kitchen <br /> and bathroom facilities may or may not be communal. <br /> SITE BREAK: A physical barrier designed to screen buildings or uses from adjacent properties, <br /> such as a fence or landscaping. <br /> SKETCH PLAN: An informal visual depiction of a proposed development preparatory to the <br /> formal application for approval. <br /> SOCIAL SERVICES: Establishments and agencies that provide assistance, counseling, and <br /> rehabilitation to individuals and families, including counseling services, training and <br /> rehabilitation services, self-help organizations, and establishments that provide emergency or <br /> temporary living facilities. <br /> SPECIFIED ANATOMICAL AREAS: Less than completely and opaquely covered human <br /> genitals,pubic regions,buttocks or female breasts below a point immediately above the top <br /> of the areola; or, human male genitals in a discernibly turgid state even if completely and <br /> opaquely covered. <br /> SPECTRUM: Relating to any transmissions or reception of electromagnetic waves. <br /> � STEALTH FACILITY: Any communications facility which is designed to blend into the � <br /> surrounding environment.
