City to determine the details of the final reclamation plans for the proposed sediment
storage facility site. I,
4. Are there adequate utilities in place for the proposed Special Use? How would the '
proposed Special Use impact the utilities and facilities in the surrounding area? '
The proposed sediment storage facility will have no significant impact on the utilities and
facilities in the surrounding area. Since the site for the proposed facility is the same as
the site that was used previously for the Basin S dredging project, all of the necessary
utility adjustments have already been made. Temporary electrical power service will be
required for the construction trailers during the construction operations for the proposed
facility, but no other utilities will be impacted.
5. What would be the impact of the proposed Special Use on traffic in the area? Are any
measures being taken to address ingress and egress to the proposed use?
The proposed sediment storage facility will have no significant negative impacts on
traffic in the surrounding area. During the estimated 4-S month period of construction of
the proposed facility, the increase in traffic will consist of the work force going to and
from the site on a day-to-day basis. The heavy construction equipment will be transported
to the site at the start of construction and will remain on-site until construction is
completed. All construction related traffic will be confined to on-site locations. During
the estimated 3-4 year dredging operations, traffic to the site will be minimal and all
dredging-related heavy equipment traffic will be confined to on-site locations. Points of
ingress and egress to the proposed site will be limited to locations where points of access
to the public roadways already exist. Upon completion of the construction and dredging
operations, traffic to the site will be as required to provide access to the site for
agricultural and maintenance activities and to provide access to whatever recreational
facilities are developed.
6. Would the proposed Special Use conform to all of the other regulations of the Macon
County Zoning Ordinance, as well as all applicable state and local laws and
regulations?
The proposed sediment storage facility will conform to all of the other regulations of the
Macon County Zoning Ordinance as well as all applicable state and local laws and
regulations, including all required federal and state regulatory agency permits.
NOTE: Please see Attachment E for a summary of public involvement activities that took
place during the course of this project.
ATTACHMENT C
