MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br /> OF THE <br /> HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL SITES COMMISSION <br /> Wednesday, October 17, 2001, 4:00 P.M. <br /> Engineering Conference Room, Decatur Civic Center <br /> ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> The October 17, 2001 meeting of the Historical and Architectural Sites Commission was called I�I <br /> to order at 4:12 P.�VI. in the Engineering Conference Room,Third Floor of the Decatur Civic <br /> Center, by Chairperson Lynn Potter who determined a quorum was present. <br /> Members Present: Lynn Potter,Jason Butterick, Paula Cross, Doug Atwater, Rhonda <br /> Glidewell, Sue Kunzeman <br /> Members Absent: Garry Little, Edward Booth, Rob Oak <br /> Staff Present: Kathy Miller, Dane Bragg, Lori Henderson <br /> ^ It was moved and seconded (Atwater/Cross) to approve the minutes of the September 17, 2001 <br /> HASC meetin as resented. Motion carried unanimousl . <br />, g P y <br /> Ms. Miller resented the � ' <br /> p Treasurer s Report with an unencumbered balance of$38,820.87. <br /> Item V. New Business was moved to the first order of business. <br /> New Business <br /> Ms. Sherry Hunter was present to represent the Local History Club regarding the naming of <br /> Stevens Bridge. Mrs. Cross asked what HASC's role was to be in this request. Ms. Miller stated <br /> that the History Club has asked for the bridge to be named. There is not currently a specific <br /> process in place to name something. The City's Administration and Engineering Division felt <br /> more comfortable if HASC reviewed the request, determined that it was legitimate and provided <br /> a process before forwarding the request to City Council. <br /> Mrs. Cross asked if the bridge was on a County highway. Ms. Miller stated that it is on a City <br /> road and a sign would not require IDOT approval. Ms. Hunter stated that the sign would be <br /> small and green. <br /> Ms. Hunter stated that a plaque will be placed nearby at Sanders Parl� 2700 West Center, to <br /> explain the settlement and a sign placed on the bridge as recognition. <br /> Ms. Miller presented the recommendation of staff: <br />
