. .  i
i
Church, daycare center, Boys' Club, social service agencies, non-profit development ;
corporations, and other relevant stakeholders. ;
• Meet with the Near North Community Taskforce (NNCT)(official name?) and tenant
representatives at key points in the planning process. I
• Conduct one-on-one interviews to gain a close understanding of the key opportunities i
and challenges from the perspective of each of the key stakeholders. I
Early in the process, set aside two days to meet, one-on-one,with identified groups to
obtain a direct understanding of their perspective. Document areas of shared vision, ;
ideas,potential areas of conflict to be resolved, and other findings. '
Task 4 Document existing conditions (Weeks 2-S)
• Prepare analysis and base map information that describe existing conditions, including
plans that illustrate opportunities and challenges. Work to be completed within weeks 2
through 5 and should precede public charrettes.
Task 5 Structure and set agenda for upcoming Community Design Charrettes (Weeks '
2-S) ,
• Using feedback from the client and the NNCT, and using information gathered to date,
set a preliminary agenda for the Community Design Charrettes. Confirm dates, times i
and locations for the events.
I
Task 6 Hold a public meeting hosted by the Near North Community Taskforce (Week i
3)
• The NNCT should serve as the roundtable to build consensus and play a key role in
public meetings and charrettes. It may be desirable for the NNCT to host the public
meeting and upcoming meetings/charrettes to avoid the sense that consultants are
bringing a vision to the community,rather than working with the community to build
one.
• At the first public meeting, the team will meet the community and solicit comments
regarding the planning process in a combined Open House/Public Meeting#l. The
meeting will present information learned by the team so far- from interviews, site visits,
etc. - and will gather additional information necessary to assess needs, concerns, and
goals of the community.
• Dates, times and locations of charrettes/worksessions should be announced at this
meeting.
Task 7 Create a project WEB Site(OPTIONAL SERVICE FOR AN ADDITONAL
FEE)
• As an additional Scope item, GCcQA would create a project WEB site, where the team,
or the City and DHA, could post materials for public review.
