Ratekin,Assistant City Engineer �j(1 �/ SUBJECT: Milling And Rehabilitation City Project 2001-08 SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached resolution awarding the contract for the 2001 Milling and Rehabilitation project, City Project No. 2001-08, to Dunn Company as the lowest responsive, responsible bidder in the amount of$2,404,355.90 and that the Mayor be authorized to execute the contract. BACKGROUND: The Engineering Division has developed a project for this year's annual Milling and Rehabilitation Program. The milling and rehabilitation involves removing one to two inches of the existing street surface by milling and then placing a new hot bituminous concrete surface I, over the milled area. This project will also perform joint repair on several concrete streets. The �, purpose of this program is to restore the useful life to a pavement in advance of its deteriorating '�, to a condition that would require its complete reconstruction.
