2.0 COMMUNICATIONS 2.1 FORMAT Communications in connection with this Agreement shall be in writing; communications received by facsimile(FAX)machine shall be accepted. All written communications shall be addressed to the officer(s) or employee(s) of the CITY and the OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE designated to receive such communications. Telephone calls and e-mail may be used to expedite communications,but shall not be official communication unless confirmed in writing. 2.2 OFFICIAL RECEIPT Communications shall be considered received at the time actually received by the addressee or designated agent and shall be effective upon the date of receipt. 2.3 OFFICIAL ADDRESS For purposes of this agreement, all notices and other communications shall be addressed to the respective parties as follows: CITY OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE The City of Decatur, Illinois Blank, Wesselink, Cook Construction Managers, Inc 555 East Wood Street P.O. Cycotte, Vice President of Operations 3A TERM OF SERVICE I This agreement shall become and be effective as of ��y �� , 2001, and shall continue in effect until construction of the multi-modal transportation facility in Decatur, Illinois (hereinafter referred to as the FACILITY) is completed, and a letter of substantial completion is issued by the Architect to the building contractor. Although the CITY desires and anticipates the orderly and timely completion of this project, it cannot guarantee that delays will not occur. The schedule of work and the date of completion are subject to the schedules of the building contractors constructing the multi-modal facility. The OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE's obligation to render services hereunder will extend for the period required for the final completion of the FACILITY, including construction of the building and site development as shown on the approved plans. If the OWNER'S REPRESEN- TATIVE provides service beyond 300 days (the building contractor's estimate for completion of the facility) from the effective date of this Agreement, then the OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE's obligation to render service, as defined in section 4 below, will extend into additional services, as defined by Article 3 of AIA B801/CMa, until the FACILITY is completed.
