Mr. Nordholm questioned whether this was stating that previously under M-1 it didn't
say anything about Vet Clinics. Ms. Miller stated that the only district that Animal/Vet
Clinics are allowed is the M-1 Industrial District (listed under Veterinarian).
Mr. Anderson questioned whether this was necessary to bring it up to standards. Ms.
Miller stated that there had been request and City staff decided that the uses needed to be
expanded and this would be a reasonable request.
Mr. Nordholm questioned what the difference was between this and a variance. Ms.
Miller stated that currently a property needs to be zoned M-1 to allow an animal clinic.
Staff feels that it would be inappropriate to rezone a property M-1 that is adjacent to
residential and commercial zoning.
It was moved and seconded (Peck/Wakeland) to forward Cal. No. 04-19 to the City
Council with recommendation for approval. Motion carried unanimously.
