ORDINANCE NO. 2004-06 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> CHAPTER 28 <br /> -UNLAWFUL DISCRIMINATION - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Chapter 28 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the <br /> same is hereby, amended and modified at Article 4, Section 4.4, so that said Article 4, Section 4.4 <br /> as amended, shall provide as follows: <br /> ARTICLE 4. INVESTIGATION AND CONCILIATION <br /> Section 4.4 The Human Relations Officer shall promptly investigate allegations of <br /> discrimination set forth in any charge, and a determination in writing shall be made by said of�icer <br /> whether or not there is probable cause to believe that this Chapter has been violated and on what <br /> facts such violation is based. <br /> In the event that investigation of a charge presents a <br /> conflict of interest for the Human Relations Officer, said <br /> Officer shall act as follows: <br /> (a) If the allegations of discrimination are such that the <br /> complaint falls within the jurisdiction of the Illinois <br /> Department of Human Rights, the Human Relations <br /> Officer, after consultation with the City Manager, shall <br /> refer the complainant to said Department for adjudication <br /> of the complaint, and shall assist the complainant in filing <br /> his/her complaint; or, <br />
