E., City Engineerl,�r�/j <br /> SUBJECT: Two Hour Parking Zones for Portions of the Streets Serving the <br /> Oakwood Business Association <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> At the November 2003 meeting of the City's Traffic and Parking Commission, the Commission <br /> voted to recommend to the City Council the installation of a two hour time limit for portions of <br /> South Oakland Avenue, West Main Street, and West Wood Street serving the Oakwood Business <br /> Association. <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached Ordinance. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Longer term parking has been present in the Oakwood area as a result of more restrictive parking <br /> requirements implemented by Millikin University earlier this year. The Oakwood Business <br /> Association requested that a two hour time limit be implemented to reduce long term parking in <br /> the area. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this request. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Decatur Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> The City Engineer, Matt Newell, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br />
