At the present time there is a 90 day order in effect for the
above streets to accommodate the trucks hauling mainly rock and fill into the Wabash Crossing
area. The Wabash Crossing redevelopment requires a large amount of building material.
Designating the streets in the Wabash Crossing area benefits the ongoing work and has no
significant impact to the safety of the streets in the area. It is expected the Class II routes will
probably be rescinded by Council once the work in that particular area is complete. Additional
truck routes will be requested when work for the different phases of the project are under
construction. Staff recommends that the Class II truck route designations be approved.
It was moved and seconded (Wennecker / Veteto) to follow staff recommendation. Motion
carried unanimously.
