734 South Jackson Street
November 13, 2003
STAFF ANALYSIS
5. Despite the fact that the area is zoned B-1, Neighborhood Shopping District, most of the structures
surrounding this area are single family structures. The proposed rezoning is compatible with the
adjacent uses in the area as well as the Decatur Urban Area Land Use Plan.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION
6. Based on the above analysis, staff recommends approval of the petition as submitted.
PLAN COMMISSION ACTION
7. Section XXIX of the Zoning Ordinance requires the Plan Commission to hold a public hearing on
a rezoning request, and then forward its report and recommendation to the City Council for final
approval. A motion to recommend approval of the request for rezoning to R-5 Two Family
Residence District is suggested.
The above report constitutes the testimony and recommendation of the Planning and Economic
Development Division, Economic and Urban Development Department, City of Decatur.
Joselyn A.
