1 interested in locating to the City to try and tell <br /> 2 them what a good place this would be to locate, <br /> 3 etc . , and then, over the course of that spring, we <br /> 4 had, probably, sporadic and intermittent contact <br /> 5 with Target, and then, during the summer of 2002, we <br /> 6 had -- began to have specific discussions that <br /> 7 centered around this particular site . <br /> 8 MR. HEBENSTREIT : Did Target pick this site <br /> 9 or did the City pick this site? Who picked the <br /> 10 Mound Road -- Mound site? <br /> 11 MR. A. J. KRIEGER: Well, it ' s a difficult <br /> 12 question to answer. I suppose both of us did. Once <br /> 13 the City began to have -- when City staff began to <br /> 14 have discussions with School District staff about, <br /> 15 not only this project but as it relates to the <br /> 16 construction of a new school in the near north area, <br /> 17 we began to think about re-use opportunities for <br /> 18 this site . Again, at the same time, we were also <br /> 19 talking with Target about locating in Decatur . In <br /> 20 the summer of 2002, we hosted a Target real estate <br /> 21 manager . Not the one that, ultimately, finished the <br /> 22 project, but we began with a different one . We <br /> 23 hosted him on a market visit, a site visit, and <br /> 24 myself and others took him all the way around the <br /> 33 <br />
